[P2] Persuasive: Research

I'm going for the the subculture that Kidwell predicted I was in. Craft beer advocates.

Its a pretty common subculture we appreciate our beer for the taste not the inebriation. It wasn't to long ago that in order to make beer for mass production, and be profitable, you needed huge warehouses and 100+ gallon tanks but in the late 70s newer technologies began to emerger that would allow for smaller breweries and distilleries. The number of craft brewers has gone from 8 in 1980 to 537 in 1994 to over 1600 in 2010. Craft beer bars are becoming extremely popular and more bars are starting to add craft beers and whiskeys to their menus. A craft product is judged similar to wine (body, aroma, color, carbonation, subtle flavors) so that does create some pompous behavior.

Just a a tip this subculture does not only produce alcoholic beverages. Most individuals tend to brew some some beer at home and are often in search or quality ingredients: barleys, hops, wheats, malts, yeast, and hundred of brewing spices and flavorings.

Dead guy ale one of my favorites.

Yeti makes a great chocolate stout!

Cervezas my favorite craft beer tavern back home in Miami.
