IA: Midterm Self Assessment

Entering this semester I was excited unlike last semester where I felt like I was lacking in design knowledge (even though it turned out I wasn't that far behind). With Information Architecture I’m confident with my abilities to excel. Our first project was a great intro to how to plan and design for the web, which I learned a lot from since web design knowledge in more in the technical side and there is a great deal to learn about web design other than coding. The newspaper site project was a good place for me to stretch my legs with Dreamweaver its been a few months since I worked with it but HTML is just like riding a bike so it wasn’t hard to refresh myself It was also my first time design a site which some new design school knowledge. Taking on the challenge to make this project in Dreamweaver, which wasn’t required, did set me back a bit but I was not discouraged I was able to catch up eventually and I will still continue to work with it for project 2. The first project was to make something for a set audience a possible more conservative audience so our designs did have to target that audience but now with this project we can have a bit more fun. For me this means I get to drive deep into Dreamweaver (while maybe exploring Muse on the side as it can be a useful tool in the future and I don’t want to neglect it) which I’m not using to be the overachiever I just want to challenge myself which is the point of going to school. In conclusion I’m excited to forward and I’ll try to my best ability to avoid unfinished work.
